Decorating your home for Easter

Easter is such a wonderful time of the year – Spring really feels like it has arrived, there are flowers in the garden, blossom is on the trees and little lambs in the fields.  A general feeling of hope and new beginnings hangs in the air.

So why not celebrate this joyous time by bringing the blossoming feeling into your home? Easter is associated with gorgeous pastel colours – pale pinks, blues, green and yellow, so use this colour scheme through out.  Below are a few simple steps to decorate your home for Easter:

  1. Hang a wreath. Wreaths do not need to just be for Christmas. There are some gorgeous Easter wreaths in the shops, or why not have a go and create your own. Below is a link to a super easy guide to making an wreath.

2. Bring the outside into your home with natural flower displays. Fill rustic vases with tulips, daffodils, peonies and Hyacinths.

3. Consider your Easter table.

Fill empty egg shells with little flowers and fold your napkins to create bunny ears.

4. Create an Easter egg tree.

Go on a nature hunt to collect some branches and trim them down.  Place this branch in a vase, secure with pebbles and then decorate the branches with little eggs and chicks.

5. Mix up the Easter gifts with a few things other than chocolate!

I know I know, we all love chocolate at Easter, but sometimes it is nice to receive a gift that does not involve calories.  We have selected a few of our favourite ideas below, from Joma Jewellery and Katie Loxton.

These are just a few simple ideas, but whatever you do this Easter, have a lovely time.
