All you Need is Love….

As January is well and truly upon us and Christmas seems like a distant memory, we start to look towards the month of Love. The shops are full of cards and gifts for those loved ones, and the adverts are on the TV for that Dining In romantic meal for two.

Love it or hate it, here at Lily and Stella, we think it is time to get ready for some romancing, dancing and all-round smooching…. Whether it’s a Date Night out or a Date Night in, the thought of having some ‘us’ time away from the norm fills us with excitement! It is important to make date night feel special, so if it’s a romantic meal in your favourite restaurant or a trip to the cinema, organise a babysitter, and get yourself pampered!

Here are our top date night ideas which won’t necessarily break the bank.

1. Make cocktails at home

2. Recreate your first date

What better way to keep the magic alive than by paying tribute to how it all began. It could be ordering takeout from the restaurant you shared your first meal or watching the first movie you ever saw together. You’ll fall in love all over again.

3. Have a dance party

Make a romantic playlist of your favourite songs and dance the night away in the kitchen. You’ll be surprised how the music will whisk you away to another time or place.

Snuggle up on the sofa and watch a few of the greatest romantic movies of all time. When Harry Met Sally, The Notebook, Titanic…. To name just a few.

5. Spend the night looking at the stars

There are few things more romantic than stargazing with your true love. Cuddle up together under a blanket and look for shooting stars, constellations, or just enjoy the night sky.

6. Exchange gifts

When it comes to Valentine’s gifts- some go big, some go small, some go small, some don’t go at all. Valentine’s Day gifts always seem to give people a lot of trouble.
