In the blink of an eye, it would appear that summer is coming to an end. Oh, how we will miss the long, sunny days, the day trips out to the beach, the warm evenings and just enjoying the barbeque at home .

As we grow into adulthood and leave our childhood behind, summer still brings that schools out feeling that the little kids get. That overwhelming buzz, freedom and those carefree thoughts. Life is definitely brighter in the summer.

As summer is beginning to draw to a close, we find ourselves starting to miss it already, and it isn’t even over yet. In just a few short weeks we won’t hear the jingle of the ice cream van rolling down the street, the sun won’t be shining as brightly and our tan lines will start to fade.

At the end of the school year, it felt as though summer couldn’t come quick enough, but now it seems as if it has flown by way too fast. It would be so nice for time to slow down just a little…. And give us a few more weeks of summer and family time.

As the weather begins to change and the autumn season draws nearer, we may start to feel a sense of gloom. The routine is about to change, especially for those of us with children going back to school. The days get shorter as it gets darker much earlier which might limit some of the activities that we’ve been accustomed to over the summer. Whilst we may wish for summer to last forever, unless we move to a tropical country, inevitably it will end.

All change in Autumn

Autumn is about embracing change. The leaves start to change colour, the weather gets cooler, and it is the perfect season to start something new. Take the opportunity of the new season to try something new, something you wouldn’t usually go for. In this way you can have something to look forward to even though your favourite season is coming to an end.

What about Winter?

Whilst winter might not be your favourite season, if you dig deep enough you will find something special about every season. Winter can be a time to take a step back from all the activities that summer brings along and take more time for yourself, some self-care. When it’s cold, it can be nice to stay at home with a warm drink, comfortable clothes and snuggle up on the couch watching a new series.

The Great Outdoors

Just because summer is over it doesn’t mean that you have to lock yourself up at home and not go out. You can change the outdoor activities that you used to do in summer to trekking, hiking, and picnics. In autumn and winter the outdoors can still be enjoyed, just get creative.
